I’ve been gone BUT I got a new machine!
Hey Homebodies! It’s been awhile but I’ve decided to crawl back from underneath my rock I’ve been living under. I’m happy to be talking to you guys again. Quarantine was long and filled with endless hours but I just couldn’t remain productive, I am the only one? In the mist of watching an unhealthy amount of Netflix and YouTube I literally kicked my sewing machine out of a chair straight onto the floor. I wanted a new sewing machine but I was holding off. I was emotionally attached to my first baby, I got her in 2012 for about $80 at Walmart and we had been making it happen for years. The zigzag stitch and button hole didn’t work but I loved her, but after that fall I had to suck it up.
I stalked around in a sewing group I’m apart of on Facebook to see what other designers were using, and now that I’m more of an “advanced” designer I invest in the Brother SE600 and I’m obsessed with her. She was a bit pricey but worth every bit of $442 (I know VERY huge jump from the original $80 machine). She’s digital and the feature that wins me over EVERYTIME is the fact that this machine cuts the thread for you. I wish you all could see the enjoyment in my face each time I press that button. It took awhile for me to get use to her coming from a more simple machine but after playing around for a bit I’ve created some great pieces so far with her. I’m excited to show you all what I’ve been working on.
Do you sew? If so, what kind of machine do you have?
