How to Take One Shirt from 1980 to 2020!
Hey Homebodies,
I’m back with another post for you all. I made this shirt a few weeks back and it immediately gave me “Full House” vibes and I knew I had to style myself accordingly. When you see these pictures you can not tell me I’m not meant to be apart of the cast (Were there black characters?). Originally I wanted this shirt to have a more flowy feel and oversized look but if you’ve been here before you know I’m working on getting better with pre-planning and not just jumping into projects.
Let’s get into these looks. Enjoy!
Please tell me you caught the vibes? I kept surprising myself when I looked in a mirror or into my phone, I just didn’t look like myself. I’ll get into the details of the shirt at the end but let’s break down where everything else is from. The shoes are from Target, I will definitely be painting these in the near future. The pants are from SheIN, I was so scared ordering jeans from the site so I got the biggest size they have and they worked out perfectly, the glasses are also from SheIN. I purchase a 60 pack of scrunchies from Amazon so now I have scrunchies in every color even though I have about four inches of hair.
Tell me this shirt didn’t travel through the decades seamlessly. Lets run down on the details. As always all the accessories are from SheIN (it’s the prices for me). I wish I remembered where this skirt was from but I’ve had it for years I actually wore it to my college graduation five years ago. The shoes are from Fashion Nova they are my favorite. Finally let’s talk about the shirt, I used Simplicity 8837 I didn’t make any modifications to the pattern but if I was doing this over I would lengthen the shirt and make the sleeve cuffs a bit more fancy. Honestly I wouldn’t use this pattern again. I feel like the pattern was way too simplified compared to other button up patterns I’ve used.
So, which look is your favorite? I have to be honest mine is the 1980s look because it made me laugh the most.
With Fall approaching what fall looks are you all excited to see?
