Let’s get into this 2-piece set…

Hi Homebodies,

On my 2020 vision board I stated that I would be getting out the house and dressing up more, as you can imagine I’ve done neither. Even with the world still being on pause I’m continuing my journey to fill my wardrobe with clothing pieces that I have created. I’ve even taken the steps to purge my current wardrobe to give myself space to fit everything I’m working on.

I think two piece sets are so easy, because you can wear them together or separately. I made this two piece set using McCalls M7757 pattern, which was super easy to follow. Even with such an easy pattern I found a way to make this process difficult. Super quick story about how I messed up because I jumped into the project too quickly and tried to skip steps. I ordered four yards of Rayon Challis from Fabric Wholesale Direct, cut out the pieces for the pattern then later realized I forgot to cut out the back piece for the shirt. I had no more fabric at this point because of course I didn’t layout the pieces the way the pattern suggested. I debated on using a different fabric because I knew it wouldn’t be seen but that would bother me too much. (Note: It took me two months to get the original fabric order due to COVID) I stalked the site until they stated they were back to their normal shipping and finally ordered another yard for one pattern piece. Thank God I did get another yard because the pants ended up being too short (again skipping steps) so I had to add on about two inches to the bottom for them to have a length I like. Moral of the story: layout your pattern the way it’s suggested, make sure each piece is accounted for, lengthen all patterns to fit your height, and buy and extra half yard just in case.

But enough of my rambling for now let’s get into these pictures. I got brave for you all and went downtown for better surrounding instead of standing in front of my dirty garage. Enjoy!!!

It’s the versatility for me! I just threw on some jeans and a pair of my favorite heels for a completely different look. I think the pants would be SUPER cute with a white crop top of some sort. I was hoping I had one to show but I didn’t. But changing up the pants gives this a completely different vibe for me. How would you style this set?

(If your wondering the pants are from Fashion Nova, I’ve had these booties for about 5 years they’re from MissLola, back when they were called LolasShoetique, and the purse is Steve Madden from TJ Maxx I believe.)
